October 3, 2024 ~ ( Dacono, CO)

Colorado National Speedway will crown its final two divisional champions this Saturday as we celebrate Halloween a little early with our trick or treat Halloween celebration presented by Coca-Cola. All drivers competing on Saturday will be handing out candy for the kids as we park all the race cars (and a few friends) in the infield after qualifying! We will also have costume contests & more; this is a very special night to finish off a great 2024 racing season. Our final two divisions to settle their championships include the AC Transmission Legends & The Puzzle Effect Denver Bandoleros. You’re not going to want to miss this epic night of action featuring a whopping eight different divisions.

Last Week, No. 82 Michael Scott became the 36th different driver to win the prestigious Challenge Cup, while No. 32 Brett Yackey, No. 16 Travis Roe, No. A51 Kyle Clegg & No. 80HD SNAFU all claimed the championship in their respective divisions. Click here to read the recap from September 28th.

Halloween Celebration October 7th, 2023

AC Transmission Legends

As has been the case for several years now, the Legend Cars have continued to provide exciting and action-packed racing each time they hit the pavement. This season a new (familiar) face has emerged as one of the brightest up and coming talents we’ve seen at CNS. No. 68 Wyatt Dent (1 Win); who is no stranger to CNS started in the Bandolero division and is the reigning Bandolero Outlaw champion. In 2023, Dent made select starts in the Legend. During opening night, Dent held off tough competition to grab his first ever Legend win and has been very consistent all season long leading the points as a rookie.

Meanwhile, 4-time Legend Car champion No. 15 Danny Medina (4 Wins) went on a tear picking up 4 wins in a row throughout the middle of the summer and despite missing the first race managed to work his way up to second in the points and tie Dent for the championship lead heading into our last event on August 31st. Mechanical issues plagued Medina which has allowed Dent to extend his points gap heading into Saturday night. Other drivers to visit victory lane this season include No. 12B Peyton Saxton (1 Win), No. 08 Darrell J Stewart (1 Win) who was our most recent winner during Legend Invasion, No. 4W Stuart Wilkerson (1 Win) & No. 75 Austin Hackenberg (1 Win). If Dent can hang on for the championship, he will be the youngest driver to win a legend car championship at only 14 years of age.

Current Top 5 in Points:

  1. 68 Wyatt Dent – 232 points (1 Win, 7 Top 5, 7 Top 10)

  2. 15 Danny Medina – 208 points (4 Wins, 5 Top 5, 5 Top 10)

  3. 03 Darrell L. Stewart – 205 points (0 Wins, 4 Top 5, 6 Top 10)

  4. 45 Cole Tuttle – 205 points (0 Wins, 2 Top 5, 7 Top 10)

  5. 88F Cade Fox – 202 points (0 Wins, 5 Top 5, 6 Top 10)

Rookie of the Year Battle:

The 2024 Rookie of the Year honors will go to No. 68 Wyatt Dent who has championships in both the Bandolero Bandit & Bandolero Outlaw divisions, once again proving the Bandolero division is a great place to start for kids who are looking to get involved in racing.

Puzzle Effect Bandoleros:

Bandits:

These are our youngest competitors who compete at the speedway their ages range from 7-11 years old and are developing their skills to continue to move up to the faster Outlaws class and eventually into Legend car or another division that competes at CNS. In 2024, the Bandits division has been dominated by two drivers; No. 14 Austin Steinke & No. 95J Jaxon Muhler. Both drivers have 3 wins each and with only a few points separating the two drivers it will come down to the final lap this Saturday to decide the champion.

Other feature winners include No. 07 Madison Stanley (1 Win) & No. 72 Conor Kellogg (3 Wins) who won 3 races in a row at the beginning of the season when we split the bandit drivers up and ran Jr. Bandits for a few races to allow those that didn’t have any seat time a chance to hone their skills and get comfortable driving a bandolero.

Current Top 5 in Points:

  1. 14 Austin Steinke – 164 points (3 Wins, 7 Top 5, 7 Top 10)

  2. 95J Jaxon Muhler – 158 points (3 Wins, 7 Top 5, 7 Top 10)

Outlaws:

The Outlaw Bandoleros saw a resurgence in 2024 as several of the 2023 Bandit drivers graduated up to the Outlaw division for 2024. This class is a step up from the bandits and features drivers who have a couple of years’ experience racing in bandoleros and are 12 and older. 2023 Bandit Champion Aspyn Lange (2 Wins) currently leads the points by a thin margin over No. 60 Liam Hammond (3 Wins), whom has had a breakout season in 2024. Other feature winners include No. 5 Reagan Fruge (1 Win) & No. 89 Justin Barnard (1 Win).
