Darren Robertson leads flag to flag dominating the Colorado Christian University Classic

Gillett Vet Super Late Models

There were no cautions in the race which worked to Darren’s advantage yet it’s likely it would not have made a difference as the orange #11 Furniture Row Racing Chevy appeared to be the class of the field. The only car within eye sight of Robertson was the #12 of Bruce “the moose” Yackey but even he had nothing for Darren in this race. Behind the two leaders a great battle for 3rd position between #55 Jesse Runkle and #31 Rick Smith had the fans buzzing and behind those two a fantastic 3-way battle between Deines, #22 Chris Eggleston and #27 Roger “the ice-man” Avants created great racing action throughout the field.

With the win Robertson is in 4th place in the season points and within striking distance of Darren Bucklen and Rick Smith who maintain 2nd and 3rd. Yackey’s point lead stands at 43 which puts him in great position to win yet another season championship.

Sunoco Race Fuels Grand American Modifieds

It only took a couple laps for Hunter to move up into 3rd and then eventually pass O’Neil for second. #77 Jeff Hansen had built a comfortable lead but it was clear Hunter was tracking him down for the position.

Yet, by the halfway mark of the race Hansen had settled into the perfect groove and did not allow Hunter to mount a serious challenge for the win. Hansen took the win with Hunter a few car lengths back in 2nd.

Palmore was uninjured but could not continue in the race, luckily for Alvarodo his car suffered only minor damage. On the restart #13 Jamie Ward grabbed the lead and never looked back moving on to take his first win in the series. Behind Ward was DASH winner #07 Mike Steward. and #06 Jeff Dempwolf from Brighton.
