Monster Trucks, Stunt Motorcycles & Demo X Rock CNS on Father’s Day

June 16, 2024 ~ Dacono, CO

There was no better place to be on Father’s Day than at Colorado National Speedway, as 6 of the best monster trucks from across the country descended on CNS for an afternoon full of insane tricks, car crushing, RV smashing & bus jumping. Fans were also treated to the Wondo’s Stunt motorcycle team, who performed breathtaking stunts around the semi-banked oval and capped off their performance with some exciting burnouts. Also featured were the United Power DemoCross Lites and Heavies; who kept the audience on the edge of their seat with their brand of full-contact racing. Several vehicles even ended up completely upside down trying to find their way to a win! Even mother nature held back the giant rain gusher until the very last minute; giving fans one of the best Super Sunday experiences to date.

Monster Truck Trick Competition:

The monster truck trick & freestyle competitions were decided by the fans. The first competition was the monster truck trick competition featuring some of the best wheelies, stoppies & donuts we’ve ever seen. Trick competition winner Jurassic Attack driven by Dalton Widner picked up the win as he rode a stoppie all the way from Turn 4 to Turn 2 in the infield.

Monster Truck Racing:

The racing competition pitted 2 trucks against each other in a bracket style race with the final round between Jurassic Attack & Avenger driven by Jim Kohler facing off in a nail biter that was decided by the slimmest of margins. Jurassic Attack picked up the win by a hair and went 2 for 2 on the day with one event left.

DemoCross Races:

The United Power DemoCross racers are living everyone’s dream – driving full contact while chasing that checkered flag… it’s everything you want to do on I-25 but you can’t! The Lites division – smaller cars and little trucks – bounce off of one another and smash their way around the combo dirt/asphalt track. The heavies – big trucks and SUVs with their 4wd disconnected slam into one another in an effort to clear their way to the lead. On Sunday, all of the drivers took it to another level, and fans got to see why the chaos and mayhem of the DemoCross is a fan favorite here at CNS. Words don’t describe it well enough – so check out these photos!

Monster Truck Freestyle:

Freestyle is the event the sold-out crowd came to see. Freestyle is where nothing on the race track is safe: not even the porta potties sitting close to the obstacles. More than 20 cars were destroyed, two RVs were demolished, and the famous CNS School Bus Jump provided some of the biggest air fans had seen to date. In the end, Axe driven by Joe Foley wowed the crowd with an incredible RV smash, wheelies & big air to get voted by the fans as the winner of the freestyle competition. As he collected his trophy, Mother Nature began washing the dust off with a big rain shower over the speedway; bringing to an end one very awesome afternoon of carnage.
