After a brief tussle with #12 Bruce Yackey and #11 Darren Robertson, #22 Chris Eggleston broke away for the lead. Eggleston hit lapped traffic at lap 15 while Yackey and Robertson duked it out for 2nd. A yellow flag signaled a double file restart. Eggleston had the lead, Robertson in 2nd, Yackey in 3rd, #74 Dan Savage in 4th and #31 Rick Smith was in 5th. Eggleston took the outside for the restart, edging out Darren Robertson for the lead by a nose. Eggleston and Robertson stretched out their lead over the rest of the field.
