Chris Eggleston on route to victory (Starr photo)

(Dacono, CO 06-02-2012) Chris Eggleston from Erie Colorado uncharacteristically struggled in last weeks big Memorial Day race, but this weekend in winner's circle Chris credited his crew for making the complete turnaround allowing him to lead from green to checker on Colorado Christian University Night at CNS.

22 of the finest Late Models in the country lined up for the 40 lap main event on Colorado Christian University Night at Colorado National Speedway. #6 Dominic Ursetta and #22 Chris Eggleston  paced the field and when the green flag dropped Eggleston was able to get the jump on Ursetta and take a small lead. #66 Darren Bucklan worked his way around Ursetta after a long battle and settled into 2nd place. One quarter of the way into the race and #91 Chris Atkinson was running a clean line holding on to 4th position while last years rookie of the year #7 Adam Deines was running in 5th position. As the race neared the halfway mark Eggleston and Bucklan were able to build a rather large lead on the field, yet with 10 laps to go the leaders began to encounter heavy lapped traffic which allowed #12 Bruce "the Moose" Yackey who started all the way back in 10th position to catch the leaders and begin to battle for the win. Eventually Yackey worked his was past Bucklan and began to pressure Eggleston for the lead. On the final lap of the race the top 3 cars bunched up behind two lapped cars and Yackey became trapped behind one of them allowing Bucklan to slip back by him and regain 2nd place. All three cars finished the at line as a tight-knit group with Eggleston taking the win, Bucklan grabbing 2nd, Yackey 3rd. Following the top three #7 Adam Deines finished 4th and #31 Rick Smith rounded out the top 5. The finish kept Yackey in first place in the championship points race holding a slim 5 point lead over Rick Smith.

Justin Simonson wins his first ever Pro Truck main event (Starr photo)Snap-On Tools Pro Trucks
Right off the bat #31 Justin Simonson jumped out to a massive lead in the 25 lap Snap-On Tools Pro Truck main event, and the only truck within a straightaway of Simonson was crafty veteran #27 Roger "the ice-man" Avants. Yet the race went green for the entire 25 laps and therefore no other truck was able to mount a real challenge on Simonson who won his first ever Pro Truck main event. Avants took 2nd, #06 Adam Hilton was 3rd, #0 "the Painter" Billy Harkins was 4th and rounding out the top 5 was #36 Matt Burton.

FAST DASH WINNER: #36 Matt Burton
QUICK TIME: #31 Justin Simonson 16.632

Veteran driver Darrell Smith won the Super Stock FAST DSH at CNS NTC Logistics Super Stocks
Last weeks main event winner #33 Bear Lynch started outside front row along #13 Jason Morris in the NTC Logistics Super Stock main event and for the first several laps Lynch and Morris battled door handle to door handle. Morris assumed the lead after 10 laps but Lynch came back on the inside to take the lead at the halfway mark. #3 Michael Cox worked his way past Morris on the inside and set his sights on Lynch who was still leading the race. Cox wasn't able to catch Lynch on the track but after a post race inspection DQ'd the #33 of Lynch, Michael Cox was declared the winner of the main event. Morris finished 2nd, #61 John Humphrey was 3rd. #90 Kyle Patee was 4th and FAST DASH winner #02 Darrell Smith rounded out the top 5.

FAST DASH WINNER: #02 Darrel Smith
DASH WINNER: #83 Greg Wohlke

Lots of action in the X at CNS (Starr Photo)A Comfort Shack Figure 8s
After having a tough time in the Figure 8 DASH, the partially inverted lineup put #24 Smokin' Joe Martinez outside of row 1 in the main event. Martinez quickly built a large lead with #23 "Big" Al Duran and #26 Nick Martinez following in 2nd and 3rd. #50 Justin McKeachie held the 4th position and the welcome return of #90 John Johnson was holding down 5th spot. As the field began to spread out the action in the "X" heated up causing track announcer Marc Moser to scream out his familiar "Look out! Look out!!". None of the drivers were able to catch the blazing fast Joe Martinez as he cruised to yet another win and has utterly dominated the Figure 8 division so far in 2012.

FAST DASH WINNER: #15 Jereme Wall
