Rocky's Autos Late Models Feature #1
Bruce "The Moose" Yackey and Cris Muhler take the Features, defending their respective point positions for another night.
24 Late Models hit the track for the first of 2 40 lap main events.
#95 Cris Muhler was on the pole with #12 Bruce “the moose” Yackey on the outside. #22 Chris Eggleston had the inside of row 2 with #42 Ronnie Hults on the outside. #66 Darren Bucklen had the inside of row 3.
It was the first, straight, 10 lap drag race between Yackey and Muhler this season at CNS. At lap 11, The moose turned it on and shot ahead for the lead.
Hults who had moved into 3rd tried every which way to get around Chris Muhler. Then at lap 22, as the two vied for 2nd, Muhler spun 360 degrees after making contact with Hults.
Hults was sent to the back of the field.
When the race resumed, Muhler and Yackey went right back to it. This time, the moose pulled ahead after only one lap and was quickly taking back his 4 car length lead. #22 kept on Muhler’s tail.
Meanwhile, we watched as Hults navigated through the heavy traffic at the rear of the field.
At the checkered flag it was last year’s champion Bruce Yackey for the win! Muhler, Eggleston, #31 Rick Smith and #27 Roger Avants followed several car lengths behind.

Rocky's Autos Late Models Feature #2
24 Late Models hit the track for the 2nd 40 Lap A Main of the night. On the pole was #54 Joe James Jr. #27 Roger Avants had the outside. #31 Rick Smith had the inside of row 2 with #22 Chris Eggleston on his outside. #95 Cris Muhler followed on the inside of row 3.
After a few yellow flags, you could throw a blanket over the top 10 cars. Joe Jr. led the pack, but before long, melee among the leaders made it impossible for him to maintain it due to brake failure. Rick Smith, Muhler and Chris Eggleston slid in past him and Joe left the track.
Caution led to a double file restart with Smith and Muhler in the front row. After one lap around the track, Muhler had come out on top with a commanding lead. He was followed by Smith, Avants, Eggleston, & #11 Darren Robertson.
Darren Robertson, the hard charger of the night started in 12th and was in 4th by lap 20.
With 5 to go, #12 Bruce “The Moose” Yackey, who’d been involved in 2 crashes and ended up at the very back of the field had navigated all the way into the top 6!

Snap-On Tools Pro Trucks
13 Pro Trucks hit the track for the 30 lap main event.#32 Mark Neff had the pole with #27 Roger Avants on the outside. #1 Happy Ferree had the inside of row 2 with #7 Adam Deines on his outside. #36 Rick Burton had the inside of row 3.
A huge collision coming around turn 1 on the first lap left Rick Burton and #07 Chris Leaf wrecked. They both left the track.
On the restart it was Neff on the pole with Avants on the outside. Happy Ferree sped through the inside on the back stretch straight into 1st place. Neff and Deines battled it out for 2nd.
After 4 laps of drag racing, Deines took 2nd over Neff who followed close behind in 3rd.
Lap after lap Happy continued to pull away from the rest of the field.
Caution lined Happy and Deines back up but this time Deines bit into Happy’s bumper, refusing to let go. Deines moved up along Ferree’s inside as the two dueled for the point lead.
You could see trouble brewing as the two began to clash. Ferree and Deines got together and spun out as the rest of the field passed them by. Unfazed, Ferree headed to the pits and returned to the track in 6th behind Deines. The two tried to regain their respective leads but with only 5 laps to go, they’d need a miracle to pass the speedy pack composed of #0 Billy Harkins, Neff and Avants.
At the finish it was #27 “The Ice Man” Roger Avants, followed by #32 Mark Neff, #0 Billy Harkins, #7 Adam Deines & #1 Happy Ferree.

The first 10 laps were caution filled. Moser shined maintaining 1st. On lap 11 Cecil Smith in 2nd collided with #09 John Patee and tagged the wall hard. He left the track soon after as the rest of the field paced the track in caution.
On the restart Edwards and #17 Jeremy Barclay were looking fast but yet another spin out brought on a few more laps of caution.
At the next restart Edwards sped out ahead of the pack as Barclay and Lothert shuffled back and forth into 2nd and 3rd. Lothert sped ahead for 2nd with his eye on 1st. He came around the inside of Dennis Edwards on turn 4 at lap 17. He didn’t loose any speed as he moved right past Edwards into the lead.
An engine exploded which brought on yet more caution as they cleaned up the track.
On the green flag it was Lothert on the pole, Edwards on the outside with #19 rookie Scott Miller on the inside of row 2. Scott Miller was obviously the hard charger, having started in 13 place.
Lothert finished way out in front followed by rookie Scott Miller in 2nd, Burton in 3rd, #07 Joel Sidell in 4th and #1 Jeffrey Sluss in 5th.

Finley and Vecchiarelli dueled for first on the restart with the V man coming out on top. The action was short lived as several cars in the middle of the field spun out in all different directions.
On the restart, V-man dueled with Finley for the lead coming out on top. Ed’s lead continued to grow as #08 Jace Hansen approached Finley from behind.
