Cris Muhler celebrates his feature win at CNS#12 Bruce Yackey had been reeling in #95 Cristofer Muhler throughout the 40 lap main event but couldn’t find the line into 1st.

A field of 23 Late Models came out to race. #12 Bruce Yackey had the pole with #95 Cristofer Muhler on the outside. #27 Roger Avants had the inside of row 2 with #10 Tyler Chrisinger. #74 Dan Savage had the inside of row 3.

Muhler made his way into the lead early on as #31 Richard Smith moved up the field into 5th. It was Avants on the inside of row 2 with Chrisinger on the outside followed by Smith.

Sparks flew out the back of Muhler’s Late Model as he made his way around lap 7 in 1st place. Avants and Smith were dueling door handle to door handle for 3rd. Smith won the bout moving into 3rd on the inside at lap 16.

At lap 24, leaders Muhler and Yackey were navigating lapped traffic. Smith, Avants and Robertson followed mere car lengths behind but that gap slowly widened.

Joe continued to pull away but almost lost his lead when he came up to lap #66 John Martello on lap 12. Joe bumped Martello from behind as Duran attempted to come around the outside. A spin out on the track resulted in more caution. Matlock flapped his wings and took off on the green flag with Duran & #15 Jeremy Wall drag racing in tow. Neither Wall nor Duran wanted to give up 2nd place which resulted in their collision going around turn 3. Wall was sent back to the middle of the field and Al Duran was directed to 3rd place.

Coming out of caution, John Johnson suffered a flat driver’s side rear tire leaving the lead wide open for Matlock. Jared Wall moved up the field taking 2nd with #24 Joe Martinez closing in.
