At Colorado National Speedway, the top dogs in the Speedy's Autos Late Models didn't disappoint. Avants fended off determined competitors, maintaining only a slight lead while a 5 way fight for 2nd place raged on behind him.

16 Late Models hit the track for the 40 lap Main Event. #41 Mark Neff had the pole followed by #54 Joe James Jr. Behind the leaders #66 Darren Bucklen had the inside of row 2 with #27 Roger Avants on his outside. #74 Dan Savage had the inside of row three.
Joe James Jr lead the pack until Avants took the lead via the outside. At lap 4 Darren Bucklen spun out along the back stretch bringing out the yellow flag. Dan Savage and Bucklen were subsequently sent to the rear of the field. With 2 of the top five out of the way, #39 Jack Nugent found a quick line into 2nd behind Avants. Behind the leaders, Mark Neff lead a 4 way, fender to fender race for 3rd with #12 Bruce Yackey, #42 Ronnie Hults and #22 Chris Eggleston.

#12 Bruce Yackey had the pole with #27 Roger Avants on the outside and #22 Chris Eggleston had the inside of row 2. Avants sped to the lead to start the 40 lap A Main. NASCAR up-and-comer Chris Eggleston darted past Bruce Yackey and proceeded to take on Avants for the top spot. Chris and Roger rode doorhandle to doorhandle round several laps but Chris Eggleston spun out between turns 3 and 4 and was sent to the rear of the field. Avants took the lead on the restart and #11 Darren Robertson came out of nowhere, passing Bruce Yackey for 2nd place at lap 20. Robertson and Yackey stuck to the tail of the #27 but they just couldn't pass him. Avants took his 3rd consecutive Late Model win at Colorado National Speedway followed by Robertson, Yackey, Ronnie Hults and Dan Savage.
