Speedy Ronnie Hults Returns to the Winner's Circle
It's been an exciting year for the Late Models. Week after week, someone different has been in the spotlight. Throughout the season, Bruce Yackey, Dan Savage, Chris Eggleston, Darren Robertson, Rick Smith and plenty of others have made their way to the front of the pack. Our points leader Ronnie Hults had started the year out strong and maintained a constant presence toward the front of the field. After missing the mark for the last few weeks, the driver of the #42 showed us again why they call him "Speedy" Ronnie Hults.

Roger Avants Takes His 3rd Consecutive Win
They say the 3rd time's the charm, but taking his 3rd Late Model win in a row at Colorado National Speedway didn't come easy for Roger Avants. He held off Robertson and Yackey and grabbed the win! As for the Sportsman, Blackie Blackard took the win by the skin of his teeth over the tenacious Tommy Roe, Jeff Walbaum and Bruce Borchardt.

#12 Bruce Yackey had the pole with #27 Roger Avants on the outside and #22 Chris Eggleston had the inside of row 2. Avants sped to the lead to start the 40 lap A Main. NASCAR up-and-comer Chris Eggleston darted past Bruce Yackey and proceeded to take on Avants for the top spot. Chris and Roger rode doorhandle to doorhandle round several laps but Chris Eggleston spun out between turns 3 and 4 and was sent to the rear of the field. Avants took the lead on the restart and #11 Darren Robertson came out of nowhere, passing Bruce Yackey for 2nd place at lap 20. Robertson and Yackey stuck to the tail of the #27 but they just couldn't pass him. Avants took his 3rd consecutive Late Model win at Colorado National Speedway followed by Robertson, Yackey, Ronnie Hults and Dan Savage.
Eric Holmes Rides the Outside Line to Victory
Points leader Eric Holmes of Escalon, CA takes a well earned victory at Colorado National Speedway after fending off the ever approaching Luis Martinez, Jr. This win marks Holmes' 4th win of the season and his 2nd consecutive win after blowing the doors off the competition at Montana Raceway Park on August 7th.

Roger the "ice man" Avants dominated the Speedy's Autos late model field winning his second consecutive main event. Try as they might the rest of the field couldn't catch Littleton Colorado's Roger Avants as he used the outside line to make another trip to winner's circle at CNS.

Car #11 Darren Robertson and #12 Bruce Yackey paced the field as the Speedy's Autos late model revved it up for a 40 lap main event. Young Darren Robertson took an early lead over the veteran Bruce "the moose" Yacky while Roger "the ice man" Avants and "Speedy" Ronnie Hults battled for 3rd. A third the way through the race and the "ice man" used his signature outside line to move past Yackey and take a 8 car length lead. #27 Roger Avants wasn't to be denied as he won his second consecutive main event in dominating fashion.

Speedy's Autos Late Models
The Late Model 40 lapper started off with #39 Jack Nugent on the pole. #27 Roger Avants had the outside of row 1. #22 Chris Eggleston had the inside of row two with #42 Ronnie Hults on the outside. The action up front was about as intense as it gets as Eggleston and Hults rode on the heels of Roger Avants. Eggleston and Hults battled for 2nd through more than 20 laps with Eggleston eventually making his way into 2nd place. Chris made multiple attempts on Roger's inside, nearly taking the lead again and again. We were led to believe Avants was simply toying with the young up-and-comer as he squashed his every attempt to take over the top spot. At the finish it was Roger Avants followed by Eggleston, Hults and #12 Bruce Yackey.
