Place your car on display at  the main entrance of the speedway!

Take a few laps with the other cars at intermission on the track.

Late Model Division (Twin 40 #1)

There were 23 Late Models on the track for the first of two 40 lap Late Model main events. The first LM A Main was caution filled. Contact on the track resulted in plenty of sparks, smoke and twisted metal. #31 Rick Smith, #42 Ronnie Hults, #78 Darren Crocker, #12 Bruce Yackey & #54 Joe James Jr lead the pack as Hults made a furious sprint on the outside of turn 2 passing Smith for the lead.

From there it was a fender to fender drag race between Hults & Smith with Yackey consistently intervening for the top spot.  After a yellow flag, Yackey and Smith flew ahead to lead the pack with Hults close behind. The 1st place drag race continued between Yackey, Smith and Hults as they came close to running 3 wide along the main stretch. Suddenly, Hults punched it and took back the lead!

Soon after, in a devastating turn of events, Hults spun 180 degrees coming around turn 3 and a pile up ensued.

Because of the new track exit configuration, the primary pit gate will be closed to all motorized traffic when the track goes "hot" at 1:00p.m.

All teams arriving after 1:00 p.m. will need to enter the pits through the gate on the east side of the pit shack.

In addition, all reserved parking will open up at 1:00 p.m. and become available to any competitor arriving after that time.

If you have reserved parking, please plan to arrive prior to the start of practice so that we can ensure that your stall will be available for your use.

Dacono, CO – Colorado National Speedway Late Model Division

With only 7 laps to go, #42 Ronnie Hults surprised the throng of screaming fans with an amazing dash from a well earned 3rd position, to first place!

28 Late Models showed up for the big Mother's Day event. #12 Bruce “the Moose” Yackey, #31 Rick Smith, #27 Roger “the Ice Man” Avants & #54 Joe James Jr brought their A game to track as the top dogs in 2 intense qualifying bouts. When it came down to the 40 lap main event, the field had been thinned to 22 of the best Late Models in the Country.

#21 Mike Bowen took the pole with #54 Joe James Junior on the outside. Rick Smith and Avants sat pretty in row two with an eager Yackey inside row three.

On the first lap, Joe James Jr took an early lead only to be passed by Avants. Rick Smith vied for the lead but Avants kept him at bay. A spin out on the track resulted in a yellow flag and a double file restart.  Avants maintained the lead followed by Rick Smith, Joe James Jr and Bruce Yackey.
