As a result of testing over the last two weekends and the differences between the capabilities of the Mod Coupes and the Grand Americans, the following changes will be made to the 2011 CNS rule book for the Grand American Modified division.
  • F40 tires will be allowed for use on the right side of the cars. Tires appropriately sized to achieve stagger will be available.
  • The rear spoiler height will be increased to a maximum of 10 inches tall. The width measurement will remain the same. The rear spoiler must be constructed of a minimum of 1/8” thick (3/16” material is recommended) clear Lexan or Acrylic and may incorporate end caps, not to exceed the height of the top of the spoiler. Metal spoilers in excess of five inches tall will not be allowed for driver visibility from behind. A maximum of a two inch wicker bill will be allowed. Three forward mounted braces will be allowed for adjustment and security. There will be no rule pertaining to a required angle of the spoiler.
  • A spoiler/splitter on the front of the car will be allowed to a maximum of 600 square inches. The spoiler must be under the bumper area, adequately supported and reasonable caution must be used to avoid sharp outer edges. Airfoils or wings will not be allowed. The front spoiler must only control the flow of air over a single surface and be constructed of aluminum. Mounting structure must be steel. Mounting will be subject to CNS approval. No rules will apply initially to the angles of the spoiler.
