Read more: A Photo Finish Win for Sportsman Driver Bruce Borchardt
Dodging talented drivers, lapped cars and fireballs (no joke) Bruce Borchardt, Blackie Blackard and Jim Bob Rogers made the 40 lap Sportsman A Main an event to remember. A hair-raising last lap pass over Blackie Blackard lead Borchardt to victory.
If you've been dying for some hardcore, lightning fast, NASCAR racing action you'll be happy to know that this Saturday's show (May 22nd) just got a little more interesting.
The drivers are pumped and rarin' to go as it is, but Pair-A-Dice Interior Finishes has just upped the ante by adding an additional $500 to the pot for the winner of the Pair-A-Dice Sportsman A Main! Thats $1,200 to the driver who has what it takes to best our massive field of Sportsman talent this Saturday night! Nothing motivates a driver like a hefty prize waiting at the finish line so expect some of the most INTENSE driving of the season yet!
And that's not ALL....
The Snap-On Tools Pro Trucks, Legends, Modified Coupes and the Whittar CRAAAAZY Trains will also be pounding the pavement late into the evening. Last but not least, Weather.com says this Saturday, May 22nd, is going to be the nicest day of the year so far with temperatures in the high 80s and clear, sunny skies.
It's going to be the first gorgeous evening of the summer season at our family friendly, NASCAR racing facility. You gotta be here.

Chris Eggleston means business here at CNS, leading the pack no matter what division he chooses to race in. Tonight the Late Models made their debut and the big question on most minds was "Can Bruce "the moose" Yackey maintain his title for another year against NASCAR up-and-comer Chris Eggleston?"
In a tragic off-track incident, Garrett O'Neil lost his life this week. A talented driver, Garrett helmed the #0 Legend car and was one of CNS's brightest young stars. Everyone at Colorado National Speedway wishes to offer their warmest thoughts and prayers in support of the O'Neil family during this dark time. We kindly ask all of our drivers, patrons and anyone reading this to keep the O'Neil family in your prayers.
Garrett O'Neil, you will be sorely missed.
May means a lot for CNS race fans. Not only do we have some of our most anticipated races of the season coming up, but May signals the unofficial start of summer which means clear skies, warm weather, huge car counts and (finally) a dry track!
That's right folks, while the state of Colorado sat under 5 feet of snow all winter long, we at CNS were hard at work crafting something new and improved for our adult patrons.
Parents, Seniors and all folks 21+ share many things in common. We like to have somewhere comfortable to relax and just be ourselves. After a long week of obligations, appointments and headaches, we like to kick up our feet, have someone bring us a cold drink and ask "can I bring you anything else?". Thanks to the thoughtful folks at CNS anyone over 21 can do just that in the all new Beer Garden!
Pair-a-Dice Sportsman
17 Sportsman hit the track for the 30 lap A Main. #49 Dennis Pobanz had the pole with #43 Stan Griffin on the outside. #84 Bruce Borchardt had the inside of row 2 with #46 Blackey Blackard on his outside, #62 Jim Bob Rogers had the inside of row 3.
It was a wild race for the lead through 4 straight laps. Blackey, the winner of the evening's 2nd qualifier took the lead with the winner of the evening's Sportsman Dash #62 Jim Bob Rogers moving quickly behind him into 2nd.
The leaders began racing seamlessly through lapped traffic at lap 15.
It was a clean A Main with Blackey finishing in 1st followed by Jim Bob Rogers and Bruce Borchardt. Hard charger #55 Craig Holmes started in 10th and finished in 4th place.
